refinished countertop with look of granite

About Our Company

Porcelain Refinishing Co. was incorporated in 1965 in Denver. Brad Sumpter, a Colorado native from Lakewood, began working as a tub refinisher as a high school student in 1989, following in the footsteps of his father who was a partner in the company since 1979. He continued to learn the trade and eventually became sole owner of the company in 2005.

In 2010, Brad learned from his tub paint supplier that there was a food-safe product that could be used on kitchen counters, offering the look of granite for a fraction of the price. He secured a contract fixing heavily-used dorm room kitchen and bathroom counters at a major Colorado university and still maintains that contract over a decade later. He takes pride in the work he does for both residential and commercial clients.

After 30 years serving the Denver metro area, Brad moved to Pagosa Springs, bringing with him his extensive knowledge of fiberglass and porcelain repair and refinishing to the southwest Colorado area.

Brad’s goal is to provide you with a repair that is not only good looking, but also long lasting.

How We’re Different

Many other companies will spray a finish over any blemish on your tub, whether it is porcelain or fiberglass.  This process often leaves an overspray ring around the repaired area that can feel rough and collect dirt.  Our process differs. When repairing a porcelain tub – we use a catalyzed putty matched to color that, when applied, is smooth to touch and glossy like new porcelain.

Don’t let the Porcelain Refinishing Co. name fool you – we specialize in the repair of fiberglass tubs and showers.  When repairing fiberglass we use a fiberglass specific finish (gelcoat) that is catalyzed, then sanded and polished to a glossy sheen matching the original finish.
